writing an essay with these two topics
1. As an entrepreneur, you are interested in expanding your business to either Germany or Australia. As part of your initial analysis, you would like to know how much minimum investment in needed to enter each of these markets. To have an appropriate estimate, you hire a consulting firm to perform an initial investment analysis. The consulting firm provides a short report concerning the minimum investment needed for each country. Taken from the report, the minimum investment amounts enclosed are: 24 million EUR or 30 million AUD. To make a clear comparison by using current exchange rates, you must convert each currency to U.S. dollars and suggest which country provides the better investment.
2. Fortune Magazine conducts an annual survey and publishes the ranking of the “World`s Most Admired Companies”. Locate the most recent publicly available ranking, follow the link to the best and the worst companies, and focus on the nine factors highlighted by Fortune magazine. Based on these data, prepare an executive summary of the strategic and organizational success factors of a company of your choice.
Each answer to every essay question must be at least two pages long, 12 Times New Roman, and double-spaced.
Make sure your document is a Microsoft Word document with a .doc extension.
Essay questions must be answered in a clear and well-organized paper. A clear and well-organized essay has an introduction that tells the reader what is ahead, a few paragraphs that discuss the topic in question, and a conclusion that summarizes what was discussed. Paragraphs must follow one another in a coherent and logical order. Sentences within each paragraph must also follow one another in a coherent and logical order.
Writing a good answer to an essay question requires that you explain yourself fully. To do so, you must assume that the reader is not familiar with the topic in question. So be concise, but explain yourself fully. Make sure you answer the question.
Since the purpose of the writing assignments is to test your understanding of the material and your ability to think critically about it, your essay must also demonstrate some independent thinking. A good paper is clear and straightforward, accurate when it attributes views to other writers, and contains thoughtful critical responses to the text(s) it discusses.
You should come up with your own ideas, examples, and your own way of elaborating, criticizing, and/or defending a certain view. Merely summarizing what other writers have said is not enough.
Don’t try to write a literary masterpiece. Use simple and straightforward prose. Keep your sentences and paragraphs short and use familiar words. Help the reader follow your line of reasoning by using transitional phrases, such as because, since, for, thus, hence, therefore, it follows that, nevertheless, however, but, on the one hand/on the other hand, etc. Make sure you use these phrases correctly.
Make it explicit when you are expressing your own views and when you are reporting the views of others or definitions and examples discussed in other texts. The reader should never be in doubt about whose views you are discussing. When you make such an error you run the risk of committing plagiarism.
Direct quotations should be used sparingly. It is seldom necessary to quote more than a few sentences. Quotations should never be used as a substitute for your own explanations. And when you do quote an author, you still have to explain what the quotation says in your own words.
