I’m studying for my Writing class and don’t understand how to answer this. Can you help me study?
In week 5 of the semester, we read about urban planning in Chapter 5 and then heard from a guest speaker, Dr. Strom about the profession. On page 120, the authors write: “Urban planning continues to be a field where professionals come together to try and solve problems within cities.”
Imagine that you are an urban planner for the local city-government in a Sunbelt city during the post-WWII era. You are working with a locally elected official to gather input from residents on how to improve the community by attending public meetings and workshops. What sorts of problems, concerns, or issues would you be hearing about from residents in this Sunbelt city, and why? What major urban trends were unfolding at the time, and how do they contribute to these community problems?
