can use these sources if you want: https://www.prisonpolicy.org/racialgeography/report.html Race, Education, and Reintegrating Formerly Incarcerated Citizens by John R. Chaney and Joni Schwartz https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/03/nyregion/new-york-state-prisons-inmates-racial-bias.html can use this in the paper or use this to get an idea : Race impacts the education people get and education can have a big affect on people being incarcerated because they are just bound to fall down a wrong path. the education system sets young people, especially those that are Black, up for failure. Many people have fallen into the criminal justice system and most of them are people who had very little helpful education. Black students are most likely to receive an education that doesn’t push them to the best of their ability and benefits them in the end If more people of color and spanish people were given a better education then less of these people would be incarcerated and put into the criminal justice system. When being out into the criminal justice system, these people have greater chance of messing up even more when they are released if they don’t have a chance to get an education while being incarcerated. Most people that dont work or get an education while being incarcerated come out and end up going right back in or struggling. I believe that race has a big impact on education and education has a huge impact on being incarcerated and falling downhill in life. Many people have been had such a hard time growing up and getting the bare minimum education and growing up in a rough neighborhood. Growing up in this situation often leads to kids taking a turn in the wrong direction and most of the time being incarcerated. While being incarcerated, many people weren’t able to get an education and carry it with them for when they get out of prison or jail and go to college or into the world and find a job.
