Milestone Three Guidelines and Rubric: Drawing Connections and Relevance

NUR 300 Milestone Three Guidelines and Rubric: Drawing Connections and Relevance
This milestone assignment focuses on the Drawing Connections and the Relevance portions of the issue paper. The issue paper is the final written assignment for
this course. In any scholarly endeavor, clinical investigation, professional practice matter, or exploration of a scholarly topic, it is vital that you use the literature to
explore what has been written about a particular topic or clinical issue. In this section, you will begin to tie together the work you have completed on the
literature review along with its relationship to the actual issue under investigation.
It is important to incorporate any faculty feedback from the milestones into the final issue paper assignment.
Prompt: The format should include four to five slides of content, not including the title slide or reference slide. APA format is required, including correct internal
citation format. You will be expected to cite, using proper APA format, the sources from the literature review in this section. You may also include additional
evidence-based sources as necessary.
In your presentation, be sure to address the following items:
1. Discuss the extent to which the literature supports the professional issue. In other words, think about whether or not the literature reflects the current
issue or problem. Does the literature agree or disagree? In what way? Discuss what the authors are saying with regard to the issue.
2. Analyze your issue in terms of its legal and ethical implications. Be sure to provide specific examples to substantiate your claims.
3. Assess your issue for its implications on professional licensure.
4. Explain the relationship between your issue and overall healthcare delivery.
5. Assess the extent to which your issue might improve or hinder patient care. Be sure to provide current scholarly evidence to support your position.
This assignment is to help you develop a concise, professional presentation of the most important points in your Drawing Connections and Relevance portions of
your final project.
1. You may use a product such as PowerPoint, Google Presentation, or Prezi to create your presentations.
2. There are various template designs that you can find on the web for your presentation. Consider your presentation from the perspective of your
audience prior to selecting a specific style. Avoid distractions. Be consistent with the style of text, bullets, and sub-points to support a powerful
presentation that allows your content to be the focus.
3. Each slide should include your key point(s). Do not place large blocks of text on the visual.
4. Do not overwhelm with content on each slide.
